Experts at Morgan Stanley recently reported that Amazon may focus its expansion efforts on Australia. The online retailer is already considering Australia for a spot to build a web services business and data centre, and now may also be looking to turn the expansion into a full service offering Down Under to target the growing population of Aussie online shoppers.

The Wall Street Journal reported Australian consumers are leveraging the value of the dollar and purchasing items from international retailers. Therefore, Amazon could be interested in tapping the Australian market and its blossoming ecommerce audience.

"Australia with its high GDP per capita and highly concentrated East Coast population leads our U.S. internet team to think Australia is a strong potential market for Amazon," Morgan Stanley told investors.

The online retailer has already started appealing to the Australian market with the recent launch of the Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire for Aussie shoppers. Through online store ReaderShop, consumers can snag an Amazon ebook reader to download books, access the internet and interact via social media.
