Buyers at the North Island leg of New Zealand's largest rural vehicle and equipment auction - the Lancorp Auction - will be able to place their bids online this year, reports Voxy.co.nz.

For the first time in the Turners Auctions' two-decade history, interested parties will be able to place their bids online for thousands of items ranging from farm trailers to fertiliser spreaders.

In addition to a plethora of farm equipment, this year's catalog contains more than 70 vehicles, according to the source. Among the selection are 40 Honda quad bikes, 10 tractors and eight Toyota Hilux utes.

Jason Tredgrett of Turners Actions told Voxy that the event is expected to attract 300 bidders from across the country.

"Last year everything sold and we expect the same level of interest this year," he said.

New Zealand's population totals more than 4.2 million, with 3.1 million internet users. Nearly 90 percent of the country's population lives in cities, and seven percent of the population makes a living through agriculture.ADNFCR-3174-ID-19884887-ADNFCR
