We've all heard of shopping online, and maybe even buying groceries with an online shopping cart. But what about buying toiletries online?
It's a reality, reports the Associated Press. Websites like Soap.com provide an online shopping cart to stock with shampoo, razors, lotion, deodorant and anything else normally found in the aisles of your favorite convenience store.
It's convenient, but not necessarily cost-effective, says the AP. In addition to varying prices across different websites, some companies charge shipping fees or have minimum purchase requirements.
The AP reports that while an 8-pack of replacement razor blades ran for around US$23 on online drug stores, it could be found in traditional drug stores for under US$18.
Even so, the eCommerce Guide reports that online shopping is a rapidly growing business, with consumers citing convenience and variety as top benefits.
